Infinity Bloom

Infinity Bloom is a light installation that unfolds like a luminous flower, merging light, mist, and motion into a poetic landscape of transformation.

Infinity Bloom is a site-sensitive light installation that unfolds as a luminous floral structure in space, reflecting the infinite nature of the mind.

The work embodies this infinity—an ever-unfolding metaphor for consciousness, imagination, and becoming. Modular by design, the installation expands and synchronizes into evolving constellations of light, forming luminous choreographies that unfold and proliferate like living patterns—echoing the continuous growth of thought, memory, and self, rising gently like a breath that loops without end.

Alive with digital intuition and natural rhythm, Infinity Bloom exists between stillness and motion, light and vapor. It evokes a luminous organism—blooming, branching, and evolving—a presence that feels both futuristic and introspective.

Water surrounds and reflects the floating forms, doubling their image and deepening their presence. In dialogue with water, the installation comes fully into bloom—like desert flowers after rain—mirroring the quiet, persistent unfolding of ideas—an ongoing process of becoming.

Rather than simply observing, visitors are invited to sense its quiet expansion and to interact with it—an unfolding infinity that reflects the boundless landscapes of imagination within themselves.

Floating like a mindful presence, Infinity Bloom senses movement and sound—even from the shore where viewers gather.

In response, petal-like LED forms ripple and shimmer through AI-driven light narratives, unfolding patterns that mirror the subtle rhythms of presence and atmosphere.

Flexible LED panels generate fluid animations, while a supersonic mist system exhales luminous vapor, forming a dreamlike bloom where light, mist, and perception converge.

Alive with digital sensitivity, Infinity Bloom blurs the boundaries between nature and code, between the outer world and the inner landscape of the mind.

Infinity Bloom is an interactive media installation featuring integrated sensors that detect movement and ambient sound from its surroundings. The system utilizes flexible LED panels to generate fluid, AI-driven light animations that respond in real time to environmental input. A supersonic mist system produces finely dispersed, illuminated vapor, serving as a dynamic medium for visual effects. The combination of responsive lighting, mist, and algorithmic content creates an immersive, atmospheric experience that merges physical and digital elements.

Each installation measures approximately 4.5 × 3.0 × 4.5 meters, with a maximum power consumption of 2500 W. The structure is rated IP65 for water and dust resistance, operates within a temperature range of –20°C to +60°C, and is designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 100 km/h.

Framework for Touring Water-Based Light Artworks

All touring artworks are conceived, created and realized by Malte Kebbel and his studio, Studio Malte Kebbel. Each project is engineered as a fully integrated system, designed for long-term public presence and maximum visual impact on water.

Process & Installation

  • Projects are tailored to each site with a comprehensive study of local conditions.

  • Floating structures are an integral part of every installation and provided under the artist’s supervision.

  • Local teams may assist, always under guidance from Studio Malte Kebbel to ensure technical precision, artistic integrity, and environmental responsibility.

Safety

  • All floating structures are built and maintained to meet professional safety standards.

  • Installation and operation are supervised to ensure the safety of all personnel and visitors, and the protection of the surrounding environment.
